All accepted papers for GDI2025, will be published in conference proceedings.

Top-ranked papers will be considered for inclusion as book chapters, while additional high-quality papers will be invited for inclusion in several special issues of leading academic journals.

Disclaimer: It is planned to publish the peer-reviewed and selected papers of the conference as proceedings with Springer in their prestigious “Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering” series (https://link.springer.com/series/15087). For detailed instructions for author and editors of conference proceedings, kindly visit the following link: https://www.springer.com/us/authors-editors/conference-proceedings. Select papers from the conference will be published by Springer as a proceedings book volume. Springer will conduct quality checks on the accepted papers and only papers that pass these checks will be published. Abstracts/extended abstracts and short papers (less than 4 pages) are not considered for publication.

All papers accepted for GDI2025 will undergo a final editorial assessment by our publishing partner, Springer Nature, in accordance with their publishing guidelines and quality standards. Papers that meet Springer Nature's requirements will be published in the Springer Nature proceedings volume. Any accepted papers that fall outside the scope of Springer Nature's publication criteria will be published in the GDI2025 proceedings hosted by Tūwhera, Auckland University of Technology's open research repository. Tūwhera is a trusted, openly accessible platform ensuring your work receives broad visibility and long-term discoverability within the research community. We are committed to ensuring that every accepted paper is published and reaches its intended audience. Regardless of the publication pathway, all GDI2025 authors can be confident that their valuable contributions will be recognised, archived, and made available to the wider academic community.

Industry contributions to GDI2025 will begin with a max 500-word abstract outlining the proposed topic. Accepted abstracts will be included in the conference programme and authors will be invited for the respective presentations during the event.

We welcome a diverse range of industry-led content—spanning project case studies, strategic initiatives, and thought leadership—provided they align with the core themes of GDI2025.

  • Originality: All submissions must be original and unpublished.

  • Authorship: Include the names of all contributing authors along with their affiliations.

  • Relevance: Ensure your abstract aligns with the conference themes.

Formatting Guidelines

  • Language: Must be written in clear, professional English.

  • Use the format given on Submission — GDI 2025

  • Submit an anonymous article.

  • Submit two versions: a PDF and a Word file

  • File names should be your abstract ID, followed by a short title. For example, “GDI2025 ID 100 Smart city”

  • Academic Papers Page limit: 10 Pages including references.

  • Figures should be of high resolution and clear.
